Epic is rapidly expanding its AI capabilities, integrating generative AI into its EHR system with 125 features in development. These AI-powered agents assist with pre-appointment preparation, automate chart summarization, and streamline documentation workflows, reducing administrative burdens for clinicians. Hospitals using these tools, such as Mayo Clinic, report measurable time savings and reduced cognitive load among staff.

Beyond AI in clinical workflows, Epic is diversifying its offerings into clinical trials, life sciences, and enterprise resource planning (ERP).
