At the HIMSS 2025 Global Health Conference, Epic reaffirmed its commitment to artificial intelligence, unveiling its latest advancements in AI-driven healthcare solutions. As part of its broader strategy, the health IT leader is embedding AI agents into its platform to enhance both clinical efficiency and patient engagement.

Epic is rapidly expanding its AI capabilities, integrating generative AI into its EHR system with 125 features in development. These AI-powered agents assist with pre-appointment preparation, automate chart summarization, and streamline documentation workflows, reducing administrative burdens for clinicians. Hospitals using these tools, such as Mayo Clinic, report measurable time savings and reduced cognitive load among staff.

Beyond AI in clinical workflows, Epic is diversifying its offerings into clinical trials, life sciences, and enterprise resource planning (ERP). Its upcoming ERP suite will integrate financial, operational, and clinical data, enhancing hospital resource planning and supply chain management. Additionally, Epic is strengthening its specialty diagnostics solutions, expanding its Aura platform for genetic testing and medical devices, and integrating genomic sequencing data into Cosmos to advance precision medicine.

With AI-driven automation, deeper interoperability, and enterprise-wide integration, Epic is positioning itself as more than an EHR provider—it’s becoming a comprehensive technology ecosystem for the future of healthcare.
